Access: Internet-delivered database. There are three ways to connect:
   1. from a public computer in the University of Delaware Library
   2. from a University of Delaware campus connection in your dorm, lab, or office
   3. from an off-campus connection (University of Delaware ID required)
Description:

RIA Checkpoint provides primary tax documents and secondary analysis for federal, state, and local taxation, estate planning, pensions and benefits, international taxation, and payroll taxation. RIA and WG&L, two of the top names in primary source and analytical research materials, anchor the database.

RIA Checkpoint is organized by tabs: Research, Newsstand, and Training and Tips.The Research tab provides all of the search tools to perform searches on keywords or citations, browse the table of contents, and view, save, and print documents. On the Newsstand tab, you can access the latest additions of daily tax updates, such as RIA Daily Updates, the BNA Daily Tax Report, IBFD Tax News Service, WG&L Journal Previews, RIA Advance Documents, and other tax news sources. On the Training and Tips tab, you can find out about the newest features available in Checkpoint.

Updated: continually updated in place as the law changes
Journals: WG&L Journal Previews provides access to: Corporate Taxation, Journal of Taxation, Journal of Multistate Taxation and Incentives, Journal of International Taxation, and Practical Tax Strategies.
Personalization: To take advantage of personalization features (“Options” and “My Folders”), you must register for a user name and password. You must use a computer on the campus network to access the registration page [http://www.checkpoint-registration.riag.com/schools]. Once you have your user name and password, you may access RIA Checkpoint from any computer anywhere from the RIA Checkpoint login page [http://checkpoint.riag.com/]. Student user names and passwords expire after one semester.
Notes:

RIA-Speedlink allows you to access RIA Checkpoint from a toolbar on your desktop. Once installed, you do not have to select RIA Checkpoint from the Databases page; simply click on the Speedlink icon on your desktop.

Click on “Sign Off” to finish your search session.

Permitted Uses: When registering for an individual user name and password, you are required to read the license agreement and agree to its terms. The license agreement includes an enumeration of permitted uses.

Software Requirements: Checkpoint works with Microsoft Internet Explorer (Release 5.0 or higher) and Netscape Navigator (Release 6.0 or higher). The recommended hardware, software, and communications requirements for Checkpoint are: Windows 98, Windows NT, 2000, or XP; Pentium computer or better; direct and reliable connection to the Internet with a national ISP; 64 MB RAM; 20 MB hard disk space; and Microsoft Internet Explorer (the latest full version).
