AP Images  Connect to AP Images
Also known as: Multimedia Archive; AccuNet/AP Photo Archive
Access: Internet-delivered database. There are three ways to connect:
  1. from a public computer in the University of Delaware Library
  2. from a University of Delaware campus connection in your dorm, lab, or office
  3. from an off-campus connection (University of Delaware ID required)

AP Images is an electronic library containing the AP’s current photos and a selection of pictures from their huge print and negative library, as well as text, graphic, and audio material.

Content appears on four tabs: “Images” (default), “Graphics,” “Audio,” and “Publicity” (ads). Current and historical images are subdivided into “US Domestic News,” “International News,” “Financial News,” and “Sports.” The Images Event Calendar highlights images associated with a particular date.

Photographs include those of historical figures, political leaders, sports greats, and celebrities. There are also images from significant news and features events of the 20th century, such as World War II, civil rights, the fall of Communism in Eastern Europe, and space exploration.

Updated: daily

When photographs are downloaded, the metadata (caption and other information) appears under “File info” in Photoshop.
