Access: Internet-delivered database. There are three ways to connect:
  1. from a public computer in the University of Delaware Library
  2. from a University of Delaware campus connection in your dorm, lab, or office
  3. from an off-campus connection (University of Delaware ID required)
Description: WorldCat, the OCLC union catalog, contains cataloging records for some 1.3 billion items held at 10,000 libraries worldwide. It covers thousands of subjects and includes records for items dating as far back as 1000 A.D. It includes records for a range of materials including books, computer data files, computer programs, films, journals, magazines, manuscripts, musical scores, newspapers, slides, sound recordings, videotapes. WorldCat does not generally include individual articles, stories in journals, magazines, newspapers, or book chapters.

Notes: The University of Delaware Library contributes cataloging records to WorldCat. The symbol for the Library is DLM.
Permitted Uses: Click on “Terms & Conditions” in the lower left of the screen.
Output Formats: Results can be “marked” (i.e. selected) by checking the box next to each entry on a results list. Then click on “Marked Records” on the navigation bar in order to print or e-mail the selected records.
