Interlibrary Loan Services for Distance Learning Students
Interlibrary Loan services provide research materials that are not owned by your local library. University of Delaware distance learning students based at the Dover or Georgetown DTCC campuses can use Interlibrary Loan services provided by the University of Delaware or their local DTCC campus library.

Books
While all University of Delaware students and staff are eligible to use the Interlibrary Loan services offered by the University of Delaware Library, all books obtained through that office need to be picked up at the Morris Library in Newark, Delaware.

University of Delaware students based at the Dover or Georgetown DTCC campuses who need any books that are not available at the DTCC libraries (including books owned by the University of Delaware Library) can use Delaware Technical and Community College’s Interlibrary Loan services to request books from other libraries and pick them up at their closest campus library.

Photocopied Materials
University of Delaware distance learning students can use the University of Delaware’s Interlibrary Loan request form to obtain copies of articles and book chapters that are not owned by the University of Delaware Library.

The University of Delaware Library uses Electronic Document Delivery to provide photocopied material obtained through its Interlibrary Loan Office. Documents will be provided in PDF format. Notification of the item's availability and instructions for viewing will be sent to the user's University of Delaware e-mail address.

University of Delaware distance learning students who need copies of articles and book chapters that are owned by the University of Delaware Library should use the Delaware Technical and Community College online request form.

The University of Delaware Library does not charge any of the DTCC libraries for the materials it supplies through Interlibrary Loan and expedites fulfillment of DTCC Interlibrary Loan requests.

Renewing Books
Books from the University of Delaware Morris Library may be renewed by bringing the books to the Morris Library or any branch library, using telephone renewal, or using DELCAT, the Library’s online catalog. If you choose to renew your books by phone, call (302) 831-2455 when the Morris Library is open.

To renew your books through DELCAT, complete the following steps:

1. Go to delcat.udel.edu.
2. Click “Books I Have Checked Out” at the top of the screen.
   
3. Enter your UDelNet ID and Password, which are the same as your UD e-mail user name and password.
   
4. Click "Continue"
   
5. Click “Books I have checked out” again.
   
6. Select the link that reads “Click here to see Books I Have Checked Out” to see information about the material on your account.
   
7. Click “Renew All.”
   

Important: If you are at a public computer, remember to click the box at the top of the screen that reads “end session” so that others will not be able to see your DELCAT records.
