Services
Obtaining Research Assistance
The University of Delaware Library provides a number of services
that allow faculty, staff, and students to contact librarians for assistance.
Those in close proximity to the campus are encouraged to visit the Reference
Desk for detailed research assistance. Remote users may want to take advantage
of the online services available on the Ask
A Librarian page that allow
users to send questions to librarians via chat, text, or e-mail. The University
of Delaware Library has subject specialist librarians for each discipline
within the University. Library users are encouraged to contact the appropriate
subject librarian to
receive information about library resources that are available in specific
subject areas.
Film/Video Collections & Scheduling
The University of Delaware Library teaching collection of films and
videos may be viewed in the University of Delaware Library Film and Video Collection Department in the Morris Library by students, faculty
and staff of the University of Delaware, Delaware Technical & Community
College, or Delaware State University. These members of the University
community should provide a valid University/ College ID card at the time
of use of materials in the film and video collection.
University of Delaware faculty and graduate teaching assistants may
request scheduling and delivery of films and videos from the collection for class presentation. The UD Library Film and Video Collection Department in the Morris Library also schedules films and videos for
delivery to University of Delaware program sites in southern Delaware
in Dover and Georgetown, College of Marine Studies in Lewes, and Continuing
Education Program, Academy of Lifelong Learning and Parallel Program
in Wilmington. To schedule film and video, call (302) 831-8419, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.
- 5:00 p.m. Scheduling in advance is advised.
Faculty may also schedule class showings of films and videos in the
UD Morris Library Media Viewing Room, which seats 49. Call (302) 831-1042
for information on the Viewing Room. The UD Library collection
of films and videos is a teaching collection and is not available for
general circulation, although students with a valid ID card may view
materials in the collection though equipment provided within the Film and Video Collection Department area. |
