• Beth Camden, Acting head of Content Management at the University of Virginia Libraries (and former head of Cataloging)
  Topic: overview of MARC 21 format with emphasis on how it facilitates access, permits customization of record loads, and can be used to make processing and database maintenance more efficient.

• Laurie Beyer Hall, Director, Office of Bibliographic Services, Information Dissemination (Superintendent of Documents), U.S. Government Printing Office
  Topic: GPO cataloging practices. (The GODORT Cataloging Committee compiled a list of those issues for GPO to cover.)

• Jim Noël, GPO Services Manager, Marcive, Inc.
  Methods used by record vendors and libraries to take advantage of modern ILS features to facilitate access, processing and database maintenance. Some specifics include: record load specifications, changed records, brief records, electronic records only, ability to track record loads, reporting capabilities, and customization services.

Lunch sessions based on ILS allowed discussion of the various challenges of using particular systems. Session were facilitated by librarians using the system. Following the last featured presenter, the speakers and facilitators participated in a panel to review what was covered, and discussed issues with the attendees.
