Library Adds Science of Synthesis Database
The University of Delaware Library announces a new electronic resource, Science of Synthesis: Houben-Weyl Methods of Molecular Transformation, has been addedto its master of Databases at www.lib.udel.edu/db for use by students, faculty, and staff of the University of Delaware.
Science of Synthesis contains 32 volumes covering the fields of Organometallics; Hetarenes and Related Ring Systems; Compounds with Four Carbons—Heteroatom Bonds e.g. Carbonic Acids, Imidic Acids, etc. The print set of the same name, commonly referred to as “Houben-Weyl,” is a major reference work on synthetic methodology and is thought of as “an expert recipe book with reliable recipes.” (The standing order for the print set has been cancelled.)
