Now Showing in the Library: Streaming Media Resources
Media producers, motion picture archives, and multimedia search engines now provide greater access to streaming media programming via the Web than ever before. But where does one start his or her search? The University of Delaware Library Instructional Media Collection Department will offer University of Delaware faculty and instructors an hour-long overview that will illustrate how teachers can find streaming media specific to their course goals which can be incorporated into their curricula.
While many presentation materials have restricted use, there is a wealth of materials that can be tapped freely and legally. The emphasis for this session will be to survey and demonstrate streaming media resources ranging from a licensed streaming media database provided by the University of Delaware Library for University of Delaware access called Theatre in Video from Alexander Street Press, to the many free streaming media resources on the Web.
The session will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the Instructional Media Collection Department Viewing Room on the Lower Level of the Morris Library.
The class is free, and registration is required and the seating is limited. To register online, visit http://www2.lib.udel.edu/usered/workshops/current.htm.
