The University of Delaware Library and Information Technologies announce the Student Multimedia Design Center Fall 2008 Multimedia Postcard Contest for University of Delaware students. Currently enrolled University of Delaware students (individuals or teams) are eligible to submit a completed entry form and a DVD of their multimedia postcard to the Student Multimedia Design Center on the lower level of Morris Library. The deadline is Monday, December 1, 2008. The multimedia postcard requires an original three-minute multimedia file on any subject, and should combine two or more of the following: video files, text, audio, still images, or animation.
The run-length time of the video postcard is a maximum of three minutes long. All qualified entries will receive 8 GB memory sticks. Contest finalists will be featured at the Fall Student Multimedia Showcase to be held on Thursday, December 11, 2008 (Reading Day), from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., at a location to be determined. Prizes to be awarded include an iPod Touch.
The Fall Student Multimedia Showcase celebrates successful multimedia projects that University of Delaware students have created throughout the semester. University of Delaware faculty may nominate multimedia projects created by University of Delaware students during the semester for inclusion in the showcase.
Submitted videos may be made available to the public. Students submitting multimedia postcards need to follow the U.S. Copyright Law in incorporating video, audio and text content into the multimedia programs submitted. Permission must be obtained by the person submitting the video from those individuals whose image or voice is included.
