Dr. Nancy M. Targett to Speak at the UDLA Annual Faculty Lecture
The University of Delaware Library Associates announces the 2008 Annual Faculty Lecture entitled “Ships, Submersibles, and Underwater Habitats: Diving into the Adventures of Science at Sea” to be given by Dr. Nancy M. Targett, Dean and Professor in the College of Marine and Earth Studies at the University of Delaware. The Lecture will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2008, at 4:30 p.m. in the Reserve Room of the Morris Library of the University of Delaware. A reception will follow also in the Reserve Room after Dr. Targets’ illustrated presentation. Dr. Targett’s presentation will focus on the multiple research platforms that scientists use to conduct work on and under the sea and the unexpected adventures they sometimes encounter. The remarks will include photographs of work being done from the University of Delaware research vessel, the R/V Hugh R. Sharp, the most advanced ship in the nation’s fleet of research vessels.
The Annual Faculty Lecture and Reception are open to the public.
