Library Offers Apple Multimedia Workshops


    The University of Delaware Library will present four workshops during the 2009 Fall Semester focused on multimedia programs and resources available at the Student Multimedia Design Center.

     iMovie '09:  Building on a history of great video editing tools, Apple’s new iMovie ’09 provides more flexibility for working with themes, adding titles, transitions, and effects to movies with its updated drag-and-drop editor. This hands-on workshop will cover all of the basics of non-linear video editing and will also include discussion of how to “save” and move an iMovie ’09 project to another computer.

     iWeb ’09: Apple’s iWeb ’09 provides the capability to design and publish blogs, photo albums, podcasts and more without advanced coding knowledge.  Utilizing customizable templates and iWeb's easy-to-use tools, it is possible to create a great-looking website with ease. This hands-on workshop will cover the basics of iWeb ‘09, including how to publish your files to the web, and how to move an iWeb project to another computer.

     LiveType 2:  Apple’s LiveType provides a video editing tool with robust options for creating text.  LiveType provides users with creative control through its collection of live fonts, custom effects, animated elements, and more.  This hands-on workshop will cover how to build animated text, export the text as a video file, and incorporate the file into other video projects.

     Motion 3: Apple’s Motion provides users with the flexibility to take two-dimensional graphics and create 3D animations. With Motion’s intuitive interface, filters, effects, time saving tools, and real-time environment users can create high quality video in a short amount of time. This hands-on workshop will introduce the basics of Motion, teach how to import and manipulate Photoshop projects, and how to export the animation as a video file.
