Library Offers Web of Science and ARTstor Workshops

The University of Delaware Library will present six workshops on specialized resources during the 2009 Fall Semester – workshops on powerful databases such as Web of Science, and ARTstor will be offered, as well as workshops to assist library users conducting citation analysis or genealogical research.

Getting the Most from the Web of Science:  The Web of Science database allows users to see how often particular articles and authors have been cited and provides access to research in a wide array of disciplines. The workshop covers research techniques to analyze the citation history of articles and ways to use Get It!, the document retrieval system that works in conjunction with Web of Science.
                        Time:                Wednesday, October 7, 2009, 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Location:          Library Instruction Room (116A), Morris Library, First Floor
                        Presenter:        Thomas Melvin, Librarian

Citation Searching: Beyond Web of Science:  For many years Web of Science was the only index that permitted effective citation searching; however, in recent years many other sites in the social sciences and humanities have enabled citation searching.  This workshop will focus on those databases, online journals and websites that facilitate citation searching.  The workshop is open to graduate students and faculty in all disciplines, including the sciences, social sciences, arts and humanities.
