Enhancements to Article Express

The University of Delaware Library announces enhancements to Article Express, a linking service that leads researchers from a journal article citation to the full text of that article. Initially released in October 2000, Article Express was designed by the University of Delaware Library to provide links to the appropriate resources-to an online source for the full text of the article, to DELCAT, or to an online interlibrary loan form-to make it easier for users to obtain needed material.

The new, improved version of Article Express includes these enhancements:

1.       A redesigned page that now indicates all available options for accessing the desired article, including as appropriate:

A direct link to the full-text of the article online

A link to the electronic journal for the desired article

A link to DELCAT, the online catalog of the University of Delaware Library

And for those items not immediately available, a link to the University of Delaware Library interlibrary loan form to request the desired article.

      2.       When a journal is available from two different sources, direct links to an article are provided for both sources.

3.       Direct article-level links to JSTOR and Project Muse titles are now available. JSTOR includes over 400 journals
encompassing 2,500,000 articles, with most journal coverage back to the inception of the journal. Project Muse covers
more than 150 journals in the humanities, social sciences, and mathematics from 1993 forward.
Article Express coverage has been expanded, and is now available in diverse databases, ranging from America: History and Life
to PsycINFO to Web of Science. Those databases which include the Article Express service are clearly indicated on all library
 database pages.
