Library Exhibition Entitled "Vietnam in Their Own Words"
The University of Delaware Library announces a new exhibition entitled "Vietnam in Their Own Words" which will be on view in the Information Room of the Morris Library at the University of Delaware in Newark from Friday, June 3, 2005 through Friday, August 19, 2005. The exhibition is a timely entrée to the Library collection of over 2,000 books pertaining to the Vietnam War.
The exhibition, appearing during
the 30th anniversary of the end of the war, will highlight personal narratives
and works of non-fiction, fiction, poetry, and plays by American, Vietnamese,
French, and Australian writers who were stationed or lived in Vietnam. The
exhibition curator is Shaun D. Mullen, Library Generalist in the Special
Collections Department, who served as a journalist in the Far East, works
as a book editor and is completing a book of his own. He has written extensively
for newspapers and magazines about the war and the literature of this period
in modern American history.
