Library Workshop on "Cited References" Databases

The University of Delaware Library will hold a workshop on cited references and citation searching Wednesday, April 2, 2008, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. The workshop will be held in the Library Instruction Room, 116A Morris Library.

The workshop is titled: Web of Science and Journal Citation Reports (JCR).  Web of Science is a multidisciplinary index to journal literature.  It provides access to the citation databases: Science Citation Index, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Arts & Humanities Citation Index.  The citation indexes contain the references cited by the authors of the articles covered by the index.  A cited reference search finds articles that cite a previously published work. The Web of Science creates a list of all the citing articles.

Journal Citation Reports is a unique resource that provides journal citation data in the areas of science, technology, and social sciences. This information identifies the most frequently cited journals, the largest journals, and the highest impact journals in a field.

The workshop is open to University of Delaware faculty, students, and staff. Register by going to the UD Professional Development calendar at [http://www.present.udel.edu/calendar/detail.php?classid=1278].
