• African American Pamphlets, 1818-1907 (Library of Congress)
  An impressive collection of early printed pamphlets from the Daniel A. P. Murray Collection of the Library of Congress. This collection forms part of the American Memory Project and contains works from authors such as Ida B. Wells-Barnett, Edward Wilmot Blyden, Alexander Crummell, Frederick Douglass and Mary Church Terrell.
• African American Women Writers of the 19th Century (Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, NYPL)
  A digital collection of more than 50 published works by authors such as Alice Moore Dunbar-Nelson, Francis Ellen Watkins Harper, Pauline Hopkins, Harriet A. Jacobs, Jarena Lee, Mary Prince, Nancy Prince, and Maria W. Stewart.
• American Studies Hypertexts (University of Virginia)
  A digital collection that includes texts of American Slave Narratives, W. E. B. DuBois, Zora Neale Hurston and others.
• Documenting the American South (University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill)
  This collection of documentary sources on the American South includes components on "North American Slave Narratives" and "The Church in the Southern Black Community."
• Douglass: Archives of American Public Address (Northwestern University)
  An electronic archive of important speeches and related documents, this site is browsable by author, title, date, and issue. Issues related to African-Americans include "Civil Rights of African Americans" and "Slavery." Authors represented in the collection include W.E.B. Du Bois, Frederick Douglass, Martin Luther King, Kelly Miller, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas, Booker T. Washington, and Black Panther Party members Elaine Brown and David Hilliard.
• The English Server: Race and Ethnicity
  Includes more than ten thousand texts in the humanities, including many on African-Americans. Charles Chestnutt, Frederick Douglass, W. E. B. Du Bois, Martin Luther King, and Sojourner Truth are among the authors represented.
• Humanities Text Initiative (HTI) American Verse Project (University of Michigan)
  An electronic archive of volumes of American poetry published prior to 1920, this site includes works by Paul Laurence Dunbar, James Weldon Johnson, Phillis Wheatley, and others.

  A searchable database of texts scanned and publicly available from the Electronic Text Center. Includes items by Frederick Douglass, W. E. B. Du Bois, Booker T. Washington and others.
