Look up the company/industry as a subject. Look for titles of articles which discuss market share. Market share may also be searched as a subject heading in some indexes.

ABI/INFORM

Begin by searching for records about the company/industry/product. Examples: co ( Du Pont);co ( Delta); cc ( 8100); cc ( 8680); clorox; sprite etc. Next, add a subject (market share) and link your search using AND. Example co(microsoft) and sub(market share). Examine the abstracts found for articles about market share.
General BusinessFile ASAP

Use the Advanced search option and conduct a search on the company and/ or industry as a subject or company. Conduct another search on market share as a subject. Combine the searches to produce the appropriate search result using the search number (R1,R2 etc). Example: co delta; su market share. Linking R1 and R2 will produce a final result.
Investext Plus

Investext Plus is part of the General Business File ASAP. Provides investment analysts reports on companies and industries. reports often contain market share information. Conduct a search on your company and/or industry. Examine reports for market share information.
LexisNexis Academic
LOCATION: Library Databases
Use the Business file category. Select business news and industry. Conduct a search on the company and/ or industry. Limit the search to market share.

Assisted Computer Searching

Another option is to have an online computer search done by a librarian. There is usually a fee for this service. Note that many online business databases may be quite expensive.
