The Abstracts section indexes and abstracts statistical publications issued by the federal government, state governments, private publishers, and international and intergovernmental organizations. It is the equivalent to the print indexes American Statistics Index (ASI), Statistical Reference Index (SRI), and Index to International Statistics (IIS), located in the Reference Room. Statistics of U.S. Businesses (SUSB) is an annual series that provides national and subnational data on the distribution of economic data by size and industry. Statistics of U.S. Businesses covers most of the country's economic activity. The series excludes data on self-employed individuals, employees of private households, railroad employees, agricultural production employees, and most government employees.

Census Statistics

The Economic Censuses, Including censuses of (Agriculture, Construction, Industries, Enterprise Statistics, Manufactures, Mineral Industries, Minority and Women-Owned Businesses, Outlying Areas, Retail Trade, Service Industries, Transportation, and Wholesale Trade) are taken every five years in years ending with a two or a seven. The census of Population and Housing is taken every ten years in the years ending in zero. All censuses are located in the Census Area on the Lower Level, in alphabetical order, across from the Documents Office.
