(Library of Congress)
The Country Studies/Area Handbook Program is an ongoing series of books
prepared by the Federal Research Division of the Library of Congress under
the Country Studies/Area Handbook Program sponsored by the Department of
the Army.
- Digital Asia Library
Project of the Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries, Ohio State Univ. Libraries,
and Univ. of Minnesota Libraries to provide a searchable, browsable catalog
of web resources originating in Asia.

Links to newspapers and other news sources from Asia, arranged by country and region. Within each listing, news sources list home city, language, media type, and media focus. The News Links section lists web based foreign language translators and font resources.

"A start page for observers of Asian Affairs" -can also pick the specific countries within South East Asia for their news. Emphasis on news, discussions, politics, economy and general background.
- Asia Daily
A gateway site for Asian news sources, including many of more obscure countries such as Kazhakstan or Sri Lanka. The site also has links to current news photos.

- Statistical Agencies (International)
A listing of URLs for the official statistical agencies of foreign governments. Many, but not all, Asian states are listed here. The quality of the data varies between different countries, and, for some, there is no English-language version. Maintained by the U.S. Census Bureau.
