• Asia Source
  An index for cultural, economic, social, historical, and political information about Asia. For example, AsiaViews has links to journal articles and opinion pieces arranged by subject. Other sections include AsiaBusiness, AsiaExperts, and AsiaToday.
• Asian Studies: The World Wide Web Virtual Library
  Links to Asian Studies resources by country, organization, and topic, as well as a content rating guide for the sites listed

• Internet East Asian History Sourcebook
  Part of the Internet History Sourcebooks project at Fordham University, this is an index of web sites organized by country or topic. While far from comprehensive on the subject, it does provide many leads to otherwise obscure information.

• Ask an EastAsian Studies Librarian
  From the Virtual Reference Desk, this service is split into categories of Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and East Asian Studies.
• CIA World Factbook
  Contains facts and maps for every country in Asia, including basic demographics, economic information, and international agreements.
• Country Studies (Library of Congress)
  The Country Studies/Area Handbook Program is an ongoing series of books prepared by the Federal Research Division of the Library of Congress under the Country Studies/Area Handbook Program sponsored by the Department of the Army.
• Digital Asia Library
  Project of the Univ. of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries, Ohio State Univ. Libraries, and Univ. of Minnesota Libraries to provide a searchable, browsable catalog of web resources originating in Asia.
• Gateway Service Center of Chinese Academic Journal Publications
  The Center provides free delivery of Chinese language academic journal publications to the US. Administered by the East Asian Library of the University of Pittsburgh.
• History: Internet East Asian History Sourcebook
  Courtesy of Fordham University. A subset of texts derived from the other such sourcebooks.

• Chinese Characters and Culture
  This very full site includes links to dictionaries, FAQs, learning resources, and the full-text of several major works, including the Art of War and Tao Te Ching (in both Chinese and English).
• China Data Center Primary goal is the integration of historical, social, and natural science data in a geographic information system. From the Univ. of Michigan.

  Provides montly and annual information and statistics.

  A collaborative effort between the University of Virginia and the University of Pittsburgh to put to make texts of classical Japanese literature available on the World Wide Web.

• Asia Observer
  "A start page for observers of Asian Affairs" -can also pick the specific countries within South East Asia for their news. Emphasis on news, discussions, politics, economy and general background.
• Asia Daily
  A gateway site for Asian news sources, including many of more obscure countries such as Kazhakstan or Sri Lanka. The site also has links to current news photos.

• Statistical Agencies (International)
  A listing of URLs for the official statistical agencies of foreign governments. Many, but not all, Asian states are listed here. The quality of the data varies between different countries, and, for some, there is no English-language version. Maintained by the U.S. Census Bureau.
