A very broad collection of information regarding the environmental, social, and economic trends shaping the world. Data for this site has been gathered from leading statistical agencies, includes maps and analyses, and can be searched through a single interface. EarthTrends is appropriate for everyone from novice to experienced researcher, for both introductory and in-depth information needs.
U.S. Environmental Protection Agency
A collection of resources sponsored by the federal government that includes information for
students and teachers, concerned citizens, researchers and scientists, business and industry, etc.
Directory type information is included for people, offices and labs, and data systems and software.
There is also an EPA news section.
National Wildlife Federation
A broad assortment of information targeting the general public including such topics as wolf survival,
an EnviroAction page, membership, an environmental calendar, and news for kids.
Nature Conservancy
Contains information similar to the magazine of the same name dealing with the preservation of plants,
animals and natural communities representing the diversity of life.
United States Fish and Wildlife
Created by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to make it easier for citizens to obtain information
and/or to contact bureau personnel. The site includes links to email addresses, mail addresses,
and telephone numbers of offices and officials.
The Ecological Society of America
A very broad and complete site that includes links to government sites, organizations and associations,

Pace Online Reference Collection: Energy & Environmental Resources
Information in an online format on the environment and energy topics from the Pace University School of Law Library in White Plains, New York. Resources include atlases, bibliographies, dictionaries and biographies arranged in an easy to use format.
The World Wide Web Virtual Library: Environmental Law
The legal information portion of the World Wide Web Consortium; the environmental law section is

Division of Environmental Biology
This component of the National Science Foundation provides brief information about programs and initiatives, such as the Ecological Studies Cluster, the Systematic and Population Biology Cluster, and also some long-term projects in the Environmental Biology Cluster. E-PRINT Network
The E-PRINT Network is a site leading to scientific and technical documents circulated electronically to encourage peer exchange; it includes preprints, scholarly papers, technical communications, and other similar documents.. It is a gateway to thousands of Web sites and databases worldwide, containing e-prints in basic and applied sciences, primarily in physics but also including chemistry, biology and the life sciences, material sciences, nuclear sciences and engineering, energy research, and computer and information technologies. This site also includes an Alert Service, a feature permitting users to create personal profiles and then be notified as new information is added in that area.

This site touts itself as the earth's biggest environmental search engine. Included is a broad list of catagorical links to environment related subjects, such as energy, forestry, land conservation, pollution, wildlife, etc. A general environmental interest link is included to get researchers started.
EnergyFiles:Environmental Sciences, Safety, and Health
Included is information on the effects of energy-related activity on the environment, on methods of mitigating and/or eliminating adverse effects, and on the technical aspects of ensuring that energy-related activities are environmentally safe and acceptable.
