Key Grants Databases
- Community of Science Funding Opportunities [Restricted to University of Delaware users.]
Identifies funding information related to research, collaborative activities, travel, curriculum development, conferences, fellowships, postdoctoral positions, equipment acquisition, and operating or capital expenses, among others. Sources of this information are federal and regional governments, foundations, professional societies, associations, and corporations. The database is updated daily and can be searched by sponsor, amount, deadline, eligibility of applicant, funding type, and area of interest. - Foundation Directory Online Professional [Morris Library]
The Foundation Center’s database covers over 80,000 U. S. foundations and corporate grantmakers, includes descriptions of more than 500,000 associated grants, and lists over associated trustees, officers, and donors. This is a complete listing of federal programs, projects, services and activities which provide assistance or benefits to the American public. It includes summary program descriptions and is searchable by keyword. - Catalog of Nonprofit Literature
A searchable database which provides bibliographic references with abstracts to the literature of philanthropy. This authoritative bibliography, which is updated regularly by the Foundation Center, includes references to books, journal articles, pamphlets and reports on grantsmanship, philanthropy and nonprofit organization management. - Foundation Finder
A free lookup tool that provides brief facts on more than 80,000 U.S. foundations, corporate grantmakers and public charities. - GuideStar
Developed by Philanthropic Research, this site features a searchable database that contains descriptions of more than 600,000 nonprofit organizations, including public charities and some private foundations. Based on tax returns filed with the Internal Revenue Service, database entries also include a breakdown of the organizations' assets, liabilities, revenue, and expenditures.
