Delaware 7.5 Minute Quadrangles (Topographic Map Series). Reston, VA: United States Geological Survey.

The U.S.G.S. 7.5 Minute topographic quadrangle map series uses a map scale of 1:24,000 (1 inch on the map represents 2,000 feet on the ground). These maps depict basic natural and cultural features of the landscape, such as lakes and streams, highways and railroads, boundaries, and geographic names. The Reference Room contains copies of the Delaware maps. Delaware is covered by 51 map sheets at this scale. Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps: Delaware.

Digital and microfilm copies of the detailed maps made by the Sanborn Map Company. The maps are of the commercial districts of many towns and cities, late 19th and early 20th centuries. The maps are done in great detail, down to individual buildings on specific streets. The maps were used by insurance companies to assess the risks of insuring certain buildings. The microfilm copies are black and white; in the original maps, the color coding represents the building material. There is a checklist of the Delaware maps in Fire Insurance Maps in the Library of Congress. Original color copies are at the Historical Society of Delaware and the Library of Congress.
