• LexisNexis Academic
  Provides full text of many legal pubications, including federal and state case law, bills, and statutes. Sections include General News, Government & Political News, Legal News, and Federal Case Law. Regulations are included, but the search features in LexisNexis Congressional are better. LexisNexis State Capital offers state bills, laws, and statutes.

• DOE Information Bridge (Department of Energy)
  Full text and bibliographic records of Department of Energy (DOE) research and development reports in physics, chemistry, materials, biology, environmental sciences, energy technologies, engineering, computer and information science, renewable energy, and other topics.

• Patents Database
  In order to view the full patents, you need a TIFF viewer, such as AlternaTIFF, a free software plug-in. Note: the full-text images from 1790 - 1975 are accessible only by patent number and class number.

• PubMed  
  A bibliographic database providing information about articles from peer-reviewed journals covering the medical sciences. PubMed covers the mid-1960s to present. From the National Library of Medicine. See also, the PubMed Journals database.

• NTIS Database
  A selective index of titles available from the NTIS Database. Contains references to material added to the NTIS collection since 1990.

• Air University Library Index to Military Periodicals
  Index to military periodicals. Provides to articles in English language military and aeronautical journals and magazines. Coverage: 1990 to present.

• Energy Citations Database
  Energy Citations Database (ECD) indexes technical reports and journal articles. The technical DOE technical reports are available full text. Covers 1948 to present.

• International Bibliographic Information on Dietary Supplements (IBIDS)
  IBIDS contains citations and abstracts published in international scientific journals on the topic of dietary supplements, including vitamins, minerals, herbal and botanical supplements.

• LexisNexis Government Periodicals Index
  Indexes articles appearing in almost 180 periodicals published by federal agencies. Former names: U.S. Government Periodicals Index; Government Periodicals Universe.

• PubMed / MEDLINE

• American FactFinder (AFF)
  The primary distribution system for Census data. Use it to find statistics about population, housing, industry and business.

• LexisNexis Statistical
  Database has two important components: "Search Tables Research Edition" and "Search Abstracts." The database covers statistical publications from the federal government (ASI), state governments and private publishers (SRI), and intergovernmental organizations, such as the United Nations (IIS).

  Internet via University of Virginia
  Summary data by NAICS/SIC code on total number of establishments and their employees and payrolls. The CD-ROM version contains the two most recent years of data. The Internet version from the University of Virginia Geostat lab provides data from 1977 to 2001.

• EDGAR: SEC Filings & Forms
  Provides access to the complete text of all SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission) filings for corporations participating in EDGAR (Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis and Retrieval).

• Equal Employment Opportunity File
  Tabulations of race, ethnicity, and sex composition of the labor market; includes data within a specified geography and job category. Also see Census '90: Detailed Occupation by Race, Hispanic Origin and Sex.

• O-Net (Occupational Information Network)
  "O-NET is the nation's primary source of occupational information." It is a comprehensive database system for collecting, organizing, describing and disseminating data on job characteristics and worker attributes. Replaces the Dictionary of Occupational Titles (DOT).

• Regional Accounts Data
  Presents Gross State Product, State Personal Income, and Local Area Personal Income. Data are available for multiple years. Produced by the Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA). The section on Local Area Personal Income is also known as Regional Economic Information System (REIS). Also see Morris Library, Microforms CD-ROM 28.

• STAT-USA
  Business, trade and economic information from more than 50 federal agencies.

• Statistical Abstract of the United States
  Provides statistical tables and charts covering various aspects of social, political, and economic life. Emphasis is on the United States, but some tables cover regions, states, cities, and comparative international statistics. Information gathered from all agencies of the federal government and from private, commercial, and professional sources. Also see, Morris Library, Reference CD-ROM (Computer #36). The statistical tables in the CD-ROM edition contain links to data in spreadsheet format, which have more years and data points than the same table has in the print or Internet versions.
