The U.S.G.S. 7.5 Minute topographic quadrangle map series uses a map scale of 1:24,000 (1 inch on the map represents 2,000 feet on the ground). These maps depict basic natural and cultural features of the landscape, such as lakes and streams, highways and railroads, boundaries, and geographic names. The Reference Room contains copies of the Delaware maps. Delaware is covered by 51 map sheets at this scale. The budget is printed in several different sections.

Censuses

Primary agencies: Bureau of the Census (Commerce Department) and American FactFinder; National Agricultural Statistics Service (Agriculture Department)

There are several censuses and Census Bureau publications. The best known is the decennial Census of Population and Housing. The decennial Census has been taken every 10 years since 1790. There are also several 5-year censuses that measure the economic well-being of the nation. Collectively these are called the Economic Censuses: Agriculture, Construction Industries, Governments, Manufactures, Mineral Industries, Retail Trade, Service Industries, Transportation, and Retail Trade. Beginning with the 1997 Economic Censuses, the Census of Agriculture is conducted by the Agriculture Department. Additionally, the Bureau of the Census collects many periodic surveys, such as the Current Population Reports and the American Community Survey (ACS). NCJRS is a federally sponsored information clearinghouse for information on criminal and juvenile justice and drug control. The NCJRS participating agencies publish hundreds of reports annually. Official compilation of United States Presidents' public writings, public messages, speeches, and statements. The material is presented in chronological order, and the dates shown in the headings are the dates of the documents or events. The information was first published in the Weekly Compilation of Presidential Documents, then cumulated into the Public Papers. The Weekly Compilation ceased in January 29, 2009 and is replaced by an online only publication: Daily Compilation of Presidential Documents. Currently, GPO Access contains the Public Papers for Presidents George H.W. Bush, William J. Clinton, and George W. Bush.

The Public Papers began publication in 1957 with President Hoover. NOTE: The papers of President Franklin Roosevelt were published privately before the official Public Papers series began.

LexisNexis Statistical has two important components: "Find a Table" and "Find a Publication." The Tables section provides the ability to search for data and view the statistical tables. Many of the tables are also available in spreadsheet format.

The Find a Publication section provides bibliographic access to many more statistical publications and includes hypertext links to agency websites. The Library has three microfiche full-text subscriptions, one covering all documents not included in the federal depository library system (non-depository ASI), one covering the state and privately published publications in SRI, and the third covering the intergovernmental organizations in IIS. These microfiche sets are located in the Morris Library Microforms area (ask at the Student Multimedia Design Center). LexisNexis Statistical corresponds to three print indexes:

A handy source for demographic, economic, and other information for counties and for the United States. Contains demographic, economic, and governmental data from both the federal government and private agencies, presented for the purpose of multi-area comparisons or single area profiles. Includes county level data and U.S. national level data. Includes tables with extended time series, some tables covering from 1969 on. Current estimates and benchmark census results are included. USA Counties contains county and national level data from the last three editions of the State and Metropolitan Area Data Book and the County and City Data Book as well as a number of data items not previously published.
