The Delaware Economic Development Office produced the following Delaware Data Maps using 1990 TIGER/Line Census data:
Census Tract Outline Maps for Delaware
The Census Bureau has recreated the 1990 Census Tract Outline maps and has made them available on the Web. One may access the Delaware 1990 and 2000 Census Tract Outline maps by ftp. One may also seek thematic mapping from the Census Map Products page. Note that the maps in PDF format are re-creations of the 1990 Census Tract/BNA outline maps and differ from the original 1990 Census Tract Outline Maps. These 1990 and 2000 Census Tract outline maps are county-based and created for all 1990 Counties/County Equivalents in the United States. All maps utilize 1990 geography; however, display features are based on what was used for Census 2000. These maps show the boundaries and numbers of the 1990 census tracts/BNAs as well as the named features underlying the boundaries. They also show the boundaries, names and codes for 1990 American Indian/Alaska Native areas, counties, county subdivisions, and places. The scale of the maps will be optimized to keep the number of map sheets for each area to a minimum, but the scale and number of sheets will vary by the area size of the county and the complexity of the census tracts.
File naming convention:
State - stSS_statename (e.g. st12_Florida/);
County - SSCCC_countyname (e.g. 12099_PalmBeach/ st12_Florida/);
Sheet number/File - 90TSSCCC_(sheet number).pdf (e.g. 90T12009_001.pdf).
The thematic maps for the state of Delaware listed below are available at the Digital Mapping Station, located in the Student Multimedia Design Center on the Lower Level of the Morris Library. These maps were created using ArcView 2.1 by ESRI, Inc. The TIGER/Line boundaries and census data come from First St. by Wessex, Inc. The actual production of these maps was done by staff of the University of Delaware Library. Users need to be aware that these maps incorporate two different types of census data - data from the 1990 STF 1A and data from the 1990 STF 3A. Data from STF 1A are 100% data (complete count). Data from STF 3A are sample data and are subject to statistical error. The University of Delaware Library accepts no responsibility for the accuracy of these maps or of the data displayed with them.
