- Delaware Geological Survey
The Survey's mission is, by statute, geologic and hydrologic research and exploration, and dissemination of information
through publication and public service.
- Delaware DataMIL
The Delaware Data Mapping and Integration Laboratory is an interactive, online collaboratory established by the Delaware
Geographic Data Committee (DGDC), through the Delaware I-Team, to make possible continual improvement of the maps and
spatial data used by decision-makers at the federal, state, county and local government levels in Delaware. Produced in
cooperation with the USGS, the DataMIL web site provide access to and mapping capabilities for geographic information
about the State of Delaware. Aerial imagery sets for many years since 1937 is included.

- Digital Raster Graphics (DRGs) are
available to download. General information on DRGs is available in USGS Fact sheet 070-99, “Digital Raster Graphics” available from USGS in HTML and PDF formats.
- The Delaware Spatial Data Clearinghouse, supports the coordination efforts of the Delaware Geographic Data Committee (DGDC) and the State Mapping Advisory Committee (SMAC). Data and documentation (metadata) have been contributed primarily by State and local government agencies.
The Clearinghouse includes a searchable database of metadata compliant with Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) standards. Metadata entries provide detailed descriptions of the content and sources of the data, often including direct hypertext links to the data sets. From this site, you can search the Delaware Clearinghouse node along with the many others that make up the National Spatial Data Infrastructure (NSDI). The Clearinghouse also maintains direct links to other sites having valuable Delaware spatial data collections and resources.
Research Data Management Services
RDMS supports research at the University of Delaware and State agencies by providing access
to databases essential to scholarly research, policy formation, information infrastructure,
development, and economic growth. Consulting services include assistance with data analysis,
data extraction, statistical and mathematical software, geographic information systems, and
scientific visualization software.
Spatial Analysis Lab of
the College of Agriculture & Natural Resources at the University of Delaware
The Lab makes a variety of data available, including the most recent editions of Delaware soil surveys published by the
USDA-NRCS Soil Surveys:
New Castle County, Delaware (1970)
Kent County, Delaware (1971)
Sussex County, Delaware (1974)
Note that updates to some tabular data for Delaware are also available from the NRCS site.
New survey information for selected areas is available in vector and raster format
from the Delaware SSURGO Soils Data page.
A listing of soil surveys is available as a separate file within the
List of Published Soil Surveys.
Printed copies are available at many libraries, including the University of Delaware Library.
