• A Nation’s Chronicle: The Canada Gazette
  Often referred to as “the official newspaper of the Government of Canada,”. Eventually, this digital edition will go back to 1841.

• California Digital Newspaper Collection
  “Free online access to the Golden State’s historical newspapers.”

• Chronicling America: Historic American Newspapers (BETA)
  Search and view newspaper pages from 1897-1910 and find information about American enwspapers published between 1690-present. Newspapers from California, the District of Columbia, Florida, Kentucky, New York, Utah, and Virginia are available. From the Library of Congress.

• Colorado’s Historic Newspaper Collection
  “Covering Colorado from 1859 to 1923.” (Internet Explorer 5 or above recommended.)

  Digitized German newspapers from the Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin.

• Early Hebrew Newspapers
  The first stage of the project, now completed, contains Halevanon (1863-1886), Hamagid (1856-1903), Havazelet (1863-1911), Hezefirah (1862-1931), and Hameliz (1860-1904). Has Hebrew search engine.

• Le Figaro
  Digitized edition of the influential French newspaper, 1826-1942, at the Gallica site.

• Fulton History
  Search over 10 million old New York State historical newspaper pages, including such titles as the New York Clipper, Brooklyn Daily Eagle, Oswego Daily Times, Auburn Democrat, Albany Evening Journal, Rochester Democrat and Chronicle, and many others.

• Historic Missouri Newspaper Project
  A dozen or so historic Missouri newspapers. The database includes full-text indexing of all articles, graphics, letters to the editor, and advertising. (Internet Explorer 5 or above recommended.)

• Illinois Digital Newspaper Collection
  Includes Daily Illini (UIUC student newspaper), Sept. 1916 - Mar. 1936; Urbana Daily Courier, 1916-1925.

• International News Archives on the Web
  Not a “deep archive,” with some exceptions. Most coverage is mid-1990s to date.

• Lancaster County (Pa.) Online Newspapers
  Includes The Lancaster Examiner & Herald (1834-1872), The Columbia Spy (1830-1889), The Intelligencer Journal (1848-1871), The New Holland Clarion (1873-1950), andThe Lancaster Farmer (1875-1884).

• Lancaster Farming
  Leading Northeast and Mid-Atlantic farm newspaper. 1955-1983 are available online. Internet Explorer 5 or above recommended.

• Latin American Newspapers (University of Delaware faculty, students, and staff only.)
  More than 35 nineteenth- and early twentieth-century Latin American newspapers. Titles are from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Cuba, Guatemala, Mexico, Peru, Venezuela, and elsewhere.

• London Gazette / Belfast Gazette / Edinburgh Gazette
  Free access to digitized issues of the London Gazette, the Belfast Gazette, and the Edinburgh Gazette, the official newspapers of record in the United Kingdom. They contain official notices, including awards and medals, obituaries, matters of state, parliamentary and ecclesiastical bulletins, and bankruptcy notices.

• Maryland Early State Records: Newspapers
  Digitized images from issues of American and Commercial Daily Advertiser, Baltimore Whig, Cambridge Chronicle, Cecil Whig, Centreville Observer, Ellicott City Times, Kent County News, Maryland Gazette, Maryland Journal, Maryland Republican, Montgomery County Sentinel, Queenstown News, and Republican Star, or, Eastern Shore General Advertiser. “We are adding records from microfilm that continue the Early State Records series when we believe they can not be converted to text by Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software. Any records that can be converted to text by OCR will be added to the Archives of Maryland Online (AOMOL).”

  Published first in Williamsburg, then Richmond, 1736-1780.

• Wall Street Journal (University of Delaware faculty, students, and staff only.)
  Digital edition of the newspaper, 1889-1987.

• Wyoming Newspaper Project
  When completed, the site will include all the newspapers printed in Wyoming between 1849 and 1922.

• Zeitschriften und Zeitungen (Reprecht-Karls-Universität Heidelberg)
  Small collection of digitized periodicals and newspapers. Includes Feldzeitungen aus dem 1. Weltkrieg (1914-1918), Der Heidelberger Student (May 1929 - February 1938), Heidelberger Zeitung (1861-1919), Relation (Straßburg, 1609, oldest newspaper in the world), Zeitung für Einsiedler (1808).
