Getting Started
- CINAHL Plus with Full Text (Nursing & Allied Health)
CINAHL Plus with Full Text is the premiere database for searching the nursing periodical literature. It includes health-related full-text legal cases, clinical innovations, drug records, JCAHO accreditation records, practice acts, standards of practice, patient education material (pamphlets), research instruments,, critical paths, government publications, systematic reviews and clinical trials. Most of the state nursing journals are included full-text along with selected newsletters and a few government periodicals. - Health and Wellness Resource Center / Health Reference Center-Academic
These two databases provide access to medical, health, and wellness information. Besides including the Gale Encyclopedia of Medicine, they also include full-text magazines, journals, and pamphlets from a variety of authoritative medical sources. There are also links to pertinent Web sites. Health and Wellness Resource Center will eventually replace Health Reference Center-Academic. The coverage in Health and Wellness Resource Center is from 1997-present and in Health Reference Center - Academic the years of coverage are 1980-present. - Primal Pictures

Images are not mere drawings but are derived from real medical scan and dissection data interpreted by a team of staff anatomists, and constructed using advanced imaging by an in-house team of graphics specialists.

PubMed is the National Library of Medicine’s search service to access the 9 million citations in MEDLINE and Pre-MEDLINE (with links to participating online journals), and other related databases. 1966 to the present represent the years covered by this service. - MEDLINE MEDLINE provides abstracts and citations to journal articles covering all aspects of medicine, nursing, dentistry, veterinary science and the preclinical sciences.

TOXNET is a cluster of databases with differing time coverage from the National Library of Medicine. The databases included in TOXNET cover toxicology, hazardous chemical, and related areas. - CAB Abstracts
From 1990 to the present, this is a database of research on agriculture in the broadest sense. It includes agronomy, biotechnology, crop protection, dairy science, economics, environmental degradation and remediation, forestry, genetics, herbicides, irrigation, leisure, recreation and tourism, microbiology, nutrition, parasitology, rural development, veterinary medicine, and much more. Journals, monographs, conference reports, books, annual reports, and other sources from more than 100 countries are scanned regularly for inclusion, and approximately 150,000 new records are added per year. Nearly all the records include English-language abstracts. There are selected links to full-text material via Get It! links. - PsycINFO
PsycINFO includes bibliographic citations and abstracts of the professional and academic literature in psychology and related disciplines. It provides access to books, book chapters, journal articles, dissertations, and technical reports in psychology and related disciplines including medicine, psychiatry, nursing, sociology, education, pharmacology, physiology, linguistics, and other areas. MedlinePlus is a goldmine of good health information from the world’s largest medical library, the National Library of Medicine. Health professionals and consumers alike can depend on it for information that is authoritative and up to date. MedlinePlus has extensive information from the National Institutes of Health and other trusted sources on about 500 diseases and conditions. There are also lists of hospitals and physicians, a medical encyclopedia and dictionaries, health information in Spanish, extensive information on prescription and nonprescription drugs, health information from the media, and links to thousands of clinical trials. MedlinePlus is updated daily. - iPOLL Public opinion data from The Roper Center, the largest archives of public opinion information.
Dissertations
- ProQuest Dissertations & Theses
Proquest Digital Dissertations provides online access to citations and abstracts for every title in the Dissertation Abstracts database. The database includes citations for materials ranging from the first U.S. dissertation, accepted in 1861, to those accepted as recently as last semester. Citations for dissertations published from 1980 forward also include 350-word abstracts, written by the author. Citations for master's theses from 1988 forward include 150-word abstracts.
Those University of Delaware dissertations which have been digitized and published since 1997 are available in PDF digital format and have 24 page previews available. These digitized dissertations (theses are not included) are free to University of Delaware faculty, students, and staff.
