The CASSIS Patents ASSIST section contains a number of files that can help you with your patent search. To access the ASSIST files, select the patents section from the main menu and then click on the line that says ASSIST. The menu listing the file names will appear on the screen. Click on the file you want to search and the search mask for that file will appear.
Manual of Classification File (Page or Title) - Search by classification or words in the Manual of Classification. Displays page from manual or class/subclass titles.
Classification Definitions - Search the text of Classification Definitions by classification or word.
Index to the U.S. Patent Classification - Search by the subject terms to identify class/subclass numbers in the U.S. patent classification system.
Classification Order Index - Search for reclassification of art as effected by Classification Orders.
USPC To IPC Concordance - Will show the corresponding International Patent Classification for any United States Patent Classification.
Manual of Patent Examining Procedure - Search the text of the publication of the same name by Chapter number or word(s)
.Attorney Roster File - Search for patent attorneys and patent agents by name, address, company name, or registration number.
Patentee - Assignee File - Search for patents by inventor name, for the inventor of a patent, or for the assignee of a patent at time of issue.
CAST: Classification, Art Unit, SPE, and Telephone Numbers - Information on how to contact the supervisors of individual art units at the Patent Office.
IDO Products and Services Catalog: This is an electronic version of the printed catalog which describes patent and trademark information resources available to the public from the PTO's Information Dissemination Organizations and others.
