| Use RefWorks with Library databases to organize your research, include citations in papers, and create bibliographies. |
The following databases provide either full-text articles or citations (information about when and where the article was published).
Once you have a citation for an article, use the
Get It!
link from each citation to search one or more electronic journal sources through
DELCAT, the University of Delaware Library Catalog.
Use the name of the journal as the title. If the Library does not own the article, you can request it via
Interlibrary Loan (ILL).
ARIBIB (ARI bibliographical database for astronomical references)
For the literature from 1969 onwards, the ARIBIB is based on the information given in the
printed bibliography "Astronomy and Astrophysics Abstracts" (AAA). For the older literature
from 1899 until 1968, the ARIBIB is based on the printed bibliography "Astronomischer
Jahresbericht" (AJB), published by the Astronomisches Rechen-Institut Heidelberg.
arXiv.org
Open access to 399,706 e-prints in Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science and Quantitative Biology.
Astrophysics Data System (ADS)
The Astrophysics Data System (ADS) is a NASA-funded project which maintains
three bibliographic databases containing more than 5.1 million records: Astronomy and Astrophysics, Physics, and arXiv e-prints. The main body of data in the ADS consists of bibliographic records
and full-text scans of much of the astronomical literature which can be browsed.
DOE Information Bridge
Provides access to full-text United States Dept. of Energy research and development in
physics, materials, energy technologies, computer and information sciences, renewable energy, and other topics; includes
the full-text and bibliographic records of DOE-sponsored report literature produced by the
DOE and DOE contractor research and development community. Includes full-text reports
received in paper copy or electronic format from DOE laboratories or grantees at its Office
of Scientific and Technical Information (OSTI) since January 1996.
Index to Translations
Indexes published translations (mainly English) of "classic" papers in physics (papers considered to be of great historical significance) listed in Part II of Stephen Brush's Resources for the History of Physics (University Press of New England, 1972). In addition, there are translations from two other works: Quantum Chemistry: Classic Scientific Papers (World Scientific, 2000); and Selected Works: Quantum Mechanics and Quantum Field Theory by V.A. Fock (CRC Press, 2004).
Inspec ![]()
The leading bibliographic database concentrating on electrical and electronic engineering, physics, information technology, and computer and control systems.
MathSciNet
MathSciNet is a comprehensive database covering the world's mathematical literature since 1940. MathSciNet also indexes several journals relevant to Physics.
ScienceDirect
Online service for scientific research
that contains the full text of Elsevier Science journals in the physical sciences.
Web of Science
(Science Citation Index)
ISI citation databases are multidisciplinary databases of bibliographic information indexed to
be searched by subject, author, journal, and/or author address. They can also be searched for
articles that cite a known author or work. Cited reference searching allows use of a given
work as if it were a subject term, to identify more recent articles on the same topic.
Wiley Interscience
Provides full text access to journals published by Wiley. Subjects covered include business,
chemistry; computer science; education; engineering; mathematics and statistics; and physics.
