Columbia International Affairs Online (CIAO).

A comprehensive source for theory and research in international affairs. It includes a wide range of scholarship, such as working papers from university research institutes, occasional papers series from NGOs, foundation-funded research projects, and proceedings from conferences.
CQ Researcher Plus Archive.
LOCATION: Library Databases
CQ Researcher Plus Archive explores a single “hot” issue in the news in depth each week. Topics range from social and teen issues to environment, health, education, science and technology, and developing nations. Forty-four reports are produced each year including four expanded reports.
EIU Country Profiles [Economist Intelligence Unit].
LOCATION: Library Databases
Country Profiles provides background and historical context of current economic and political events for each country. Each profile analyzes the infrastructure and major industrial sectors of each economy and includes maps and tables of key economic data for the past 5 years.
EIU Country Reports [Economist Intelligence Unit].
LOCATION: Library Databases
Country Reports analyze political and economic trends. Each report examines and explains the issues shaping the country: the political science, economic policy, the domestic economy, and foreign trade and payments. The reports include quarterly and annual statistics of at least 150 data points picked from the most reliable sources and reviewed by EIU analysts to provide consistent, objective and impartial coverage.

Provides bibliographic references, abstracts, or full text for articles from more than 2,300 scholarly journals and general interest magazines. It has full text of more than 1,300 titles. LexisNexis Academic.

One of the best sources for current information, especially from newspapers or wire services. Most of the citations have full text of the article. Also includes full-text articles from selected magazines and journals.

Periodical Indexes and Abstracts

AccessUN.
LOCATION: Library Databases
Provides access to the latest two years of United Nations documents and publications. Articles appearing in UN periodicals, as well as bilateral and multilateral treaties in the UN Treaty Series, are indexed. Full-text resolutions from the General Assembly, Security Council and the Economic and Social Council are appended to their respective bibliographic citations.

EIU ViewsWire [Economist Intelligence Unit].

A Web-based intelligence service from the Economist Intelligence Unit, offering analysis on key economic, political, and business developments around the world. Each day, it supplies 100-150 analytical articles on any of 195 countries. Provides full-text information from newspapers, the legal literature, and other sources on a variety of topics.
Ethnic NewsWatch.

Ethnic NewsWatch is a comprehensive full-text database of over 200 newspapers, magazines, and journals of the ethnic, minority, and native press. Searchable in both English and Spanish, Ethnic NewsWatch provides a rich collection of articles, editorials, and reviews with a broad diversity of perspectives often at variance with the mainstream media.

An online database (1980 to the present) which provides references and/or abstracts to articles from more than 900 scholarly and general interest business and economic periodicals. It also provides the full text of many articles. It includes indexing of the current year of the Wall Street Journal and the financial section of the New York Times.
GenderWatch.

A full-text collection of international journals, magazines, newsletters, regional publications, special reports and conference proceedings devoted to women's and gender issues. It provides in-depth coverage of the subjects that are uniquely central to women's daily lives, including family, childbirth, birth control, daycare, domestic abuse, work and the workplace, sexual harassment, aging, aging parents, body image, eating disorders, and social and societal roles.

JSTOR.

A database of back issues of core journals in the humanities, social sciences, and sciences. Among the major journals included are Journal of Near East Studies and British Journal of Middle Eastern Studies.
London Times Index.

Consists of Palmer's Index to The Times (1790-1905) and Official Index to The Times (1906-1980), providing complete indexing to The Times (London) newspaper.
PAIS International.

An electronic index (1972 to the present) to books, periodicals, and government documents on issues concerning public affairs.
ProQuest Digital Dissertations.
LOCATION: Library Databases
Online access to citations and abstracts for every title in the Dissertation Abstracts database. The database includes citations for materials ranging from the first U.S. dissertation, accepted in 1861, to those accepted as recently as last semester. Some 70,000 dissertations have been digitized and are available in full text. Those University of Delaware dissertations which have been digitized are free to University of Delaware faculty, students, and staff.

Sociological Abstracts.

A huge, multidisciplinary database corresponding to Science Citation Index, Social Sciences Citation Index, and Arts and Humanities Citation Index, published by the Institute for Scientific Information. Provides access to a wealth of scholarly journal literature from more than 8,000 scholarly journals. Cited references may also be searched. Abstracts are included. Updated weekly.
Women's Studies International.

An interdisciplinary combination of nine important files, containing over 204,000 records drawn from a variety of essential Women's Studies databases. Included is the Women Studies Abstracts, which indexes Women's Studies journals from 1984 to the present.

Britannica Online.

The contents of the Encyclopedia Britannica are available in this database, as are articles not found in the print Britannica. Also included are the Britannica Book of the Year, which provides annually updated information on current political events, and links to quality Internet sites.
