The Film and Video Collection Department of
the University of Delaware Library will offer UD students, faculty,
and staff an hour-long overview of film and video resources and services
available for classroom instructional support and research. The session
will begin with a tour of the Film and Video Collection Department
facilities which include viewing carrels, a Viewing Room, and a Media
Research Room. Participants will be shown how to search the collection
in DELCAT and WorldCat Local and will be given an online tour of
the Film and Video website.
Class limited to four participants; registration is required.

make informed choices when creating and managing multimedia files.
Participants will learn the difference between a JPEG and GIF; when
would it be better to save an audio recording as a WAV or MP3; and

etc.), graphic (JPEG, GIF, PNG, etc.) and text formats (PDF, etc.).

find it difficult to locate names in the U.S. Census and other
historical sources due to the various ways names are recorded.
Records tend to focus on male heads of households and may not provide
the first or maiden names of female family members. This workshop
